About Me

Medical Director, Fetal Cardiology (South Region)

I am a pediatric and fetal cardiologist at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital dedicated to caring for young patients with complex congenital heart conditions, including single ventricle defects, heterotaxy and transposition of the great arteries (TGA). Many of these heart conditions can now be identified before birth, so I often begin working with families during pregnancy. My practice focuses on fetal screening, assessing complex fetal heart anatomy and managing fetal heart rhythm issues.

With an undergraduate background in mechanical engineering, I was naturally drawn to cardiology — the heart is, after all, the body’s pump. My engineering experience helps me understand the three-dimensional imaging and thinking required for accurate diagnosis and care, blending my passion for science with direct patient care.

As a fetal cardiologist, I work closely with families before their child is born, helping them understand what to expect and preparing them for the journey ahead. After birth, I continue to support them through important moments and decisions, which is made easier by the trust we’ve already built. Every family’s needs are unique, and I tailor my approach accordingly. Watching my patients grow from fetuses to children to young adults is incredibly rewarding, and the bonds I form with these families are truly special.

In addition to patient care, I lead several quality initiatives to improve communication between cardiologists and delivery hospitals and advance the quality of fetal imaging. These efforts help ensure that each family receives the highest standard of care and support from pregnancy onward.
