About Me

I am a pediatric cardiologist at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, with 35 years of experience caring for children with congenital heart disease, heart rhythm issues and other pediatric cardiac conditions. I specialize in providing community-based care with a particular focus on echocardiography and fetal cardiology.

My journey into medicine was inspired by my father, the first practicing pediatric cardiologist in Venezuela. Growing up, I often accompanied him on patient rounds, and he later became one of my professors in medical school. Seeing the difference his work made in families' lives fueled my passion for pediatric cardiology.

Supporting children and their families as they navigate the challenges of heart disease is incredibly meaningful to me. I take pride in guiding my patients through their cardiac journeys, celebrating each milestone as they grow and thrive, leading healthy, productive lives.

In my practice, I take the time to understand each patient’s history, conduct thorough exams, and perform necessary tests, such as echocardiograms, EKGs and exercise stress tests. I also analyze Holter and other heart event monitors that can record and track a patient's heart rate and rhythm. My goal is to ensure families feel informed, empowered, and supported as we work together to manage their child’s health.

Beyond patient care, I am also passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of physicians. As a clinical assistant professor at Florida State University, I’m honored to guide medical students and new doctors in their early careers.
