About Me
I am a pediatric cardiologist at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. For more than 35 years, I’ve cared for children and adolescents with heart conditions—ranging from simple to complex—in South Florida. With extensive expertise in interventional cardiology, I also ran pediatric cardiac catheterization labs for 16 years, where I performed the first of many procedures in the region.
As a community cardiologist today, I treat a wide range of heart concerns in the clinic, from routine cases to more advanced and complex conditions. I also provide second opinions and expert guidance on challenging cases.
Originally from India, my journey in medicine began with a fascination for the heart. I initially considered heart surgery but ultimately specialized in interventional cardiology, which allowed me to quickly and effectively address many heart issues in the catheterization lab. It’s incredibly rewarding to see a patient go from experiencing symptoms to feeling better in a short period of time.
For many years, I was director of the Pediatric Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at both Memorial Healthcare System and Jackson Memorial Hospital, performing innovative procedures new to South Florida. My mission has always been to bring the latest advancements and highest standards of cardiac care to our community.
Working extensively with complex cardiac cases, I’ve had the privilege of following many patients from childhood into adulthood. I’m committed to educating them and their families about their heart conditions, treatment options, and long-term care plans. Building close bonds with my patients and watching them grow and thrive is one of the greatest honors of my career.
In addition to patient care, I’ve been deeply involved in advancing pediatric cardiology. I have taught medical students, mentored new physicians, and collaborated on research to drive innovation in the field, all with a focus on enhancing patient care and experience.
I’ve also served as president, treasurer and secretary of the Florida Association of Pediatric Cardiologists and held roles on the Cardiac Advisory Council for the state of Florida and the Research Peer Review Committee for the American Heart Association in Florida.
