About Me
I am a pediatric cardiologist at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, specializing in the treatment of congenital heart defects, acquired heart conditions and preventive cardiology to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease later in life. I am also trained in palliative care and hospice management, allowing me to provide compassionate, comprehensive support to children and families who require long-term care.
My father was an extraordinary OB-GYN known for his skill, compassion, integrity and unwavering dedication to his patients. His example profoundly shaped me, inspiring me to follow in his footsteps and pursue a career in medicine with the same commitment to patient care.
What I love most about my work is the chance to make a meaningful, lasting impact on children and their families. As a pediatric cardiologist, I have the privilege of building long-term relationships with my patients, many of whom I follow from infancy through adolescence and even many into adulthood. It’s incredibly fulfilling to guide families through both the medical and emotional aspects of managing heart conditions.
Preventive cardiology is another focus of mine, particularly with conditions influenced by lifestyle factors such as obesity and hypertension. These issues are becoming increasingly common in children, and without intervention, they can lead to early-onset cardiovascular disease in adulthood. My goal is to help families establish healthy habits early to protect their child’s heart for the future.
I take a compassionate, thorough and collaborative approach to care, ensuring every family feels heard, informed and supported. By listening carefully to both medical concerns and emotional needs, I strive to provide thorough, personalized guidance. My goal is to help families fully understand diagnoses, treatment options and preventive strategies so we can work together to achieve the best outcomes for their child.
In addition to patient care, I’m passionate about research and quality improvement initiatives focused on preventive cardiology and enhancing long-term care for children with congenital heart defects. Pediatric cardiology is an ever-evolving field, and I am committed to advancing new approaches and innovations that push the boundaries of what we can offer our patients.
