About Me

I am a physiatrist at Memorial Rehabilitation Institute, specializing in acute and chronic spine pain and musculoskeletal medicine. Some common musculoskeletal conditions I treat include lower back and neck pain and hip, knee, and shoulder pain. I also manage patients with nerve pain, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), spinal cord injury pain and cancer pain.

I am trained in various non-surgical and minimally invasive surgical procedures, which are done under both ultrasound and fluoroscopic guidance. Most commonly, I provide lumbar/cervical epidural steroid injections, lumbar/cervical radiofrequency ablations, sacroiliac joint injections, peripheral joint injections, peripheral nerve blocks, trigger point injections, intrathecal pump placement (ITP), spinal cord stimulation (SCS) and peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS) placement.

Prior to medical school, I worked as a personal trainer for several years. Many of my patients suffered from loss of function, so I became a physiatrist to help patients adapt, overcome obstacles, and restore their quality of life.

One of my favorite aspects of my clinical work is the ability to return to function and improve the quality of life in those suffering from chronic pain. This field allows me to build strong, long-lasting relationships with my patients as we work together to optimize function and achieve individual goals. I use a comprehensive strategy to treat patients, incorporating physical therapy and other techniques, minimally invasive procedures when needed, collaborative patient education and encouraging positive lifestyle changes to achieve favorable, healthy results.

The field of pain medicine is constantly evolving, and I pride myself on providing the most up-to-date treatment options by being involved in multiple national and international medical organizations and continuing to engage in clinical research.

I serve on multiple working groups within the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA), focusing on student/resident/fellow education and mentoring. I have published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and online publications, continue to publish articles for numerous society newsletters each month, and have presented my work at local and national conferences.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also love golfing, going to the gym and watching sports.
