Dr. Jackson G. Cohen is a fellowship-trained, board-certified, interventional pain medicine physician. Dr. Cohen completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Maimonides Hospital in Brooklyn before moving to Miami for his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident. He then went on to complete a fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine with the Department of Anesthesia at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Cohen specializes in the treatment of spine and musculoskeletal pain, including neck and low back pain, hip, knee and shoulder pain, arthritis, tendon injuries, sports injuries, nerve pain, complex regional pain syndrome, and cancer pain, among other chronic pain conditions. Each patient receives an individualized treatment and management plan that is optimized to fit his or her unique needs. Dr. Cohen practices with a holistic approach, utilizing physical therapy and other modalities, minimally invasive procedures, collaborative patient education, and positive lifestyle modifications to reach healthy, positive outcomes.

His ultimate goal is to provide pain relief for his patients, while also helping patients enjoy improved function and higher overall quality of life. He performs a variety of non-surgical and minimally invasive surgical procedures from fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided injections to the placement of spinal cord stimulators and intrathecal pumps. He stays up to date on the latest advancements in treatment options for his patients.

Dr. Cohen has also published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals, written book chapters, and presented his work at national and international conferences. He continues to participate in clinical research as part of his practice in order to advance the field of pain medicine and outcomes for all patients suffering from chronic and debilitating pain. Most importantly, Dr. Cohen’s primary concern is always his patients, and he is passionate about patient care.

Outside of work, Dr. Cohen enjoys spending time with his family, cooking and barbecuing, going to the gym, and playing sports.
