About Me
I am a physiatrist at Memorial Healthcare System. I help patients maximize their functional abilities and improve the quality of life for people with physical impairments. This includes patients after traumatic and non-traumatic brain injuries; stroke; spinal cord injuries; orthopedic injuries as a result of overuse syndromes or traumatic events; or those in need of musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
I also specialize in procedures such as chemodenervation of muscles using botulinum toxin and a variety of therapeutic injections including peripheral joint injections, trigger point injections, and ultrasound-guided injections.
Before I was a physician, I was a musician and still enjoy playing the trombone. I had a passion for music and connecting with people through music, which ultimately led me to medicine where I could continue to have a positive impact on the lives of others.
Physiatry is my dream profession because it involves closely working with patients in a team approach to providing care. We focus on each patient's passions, helping them to regain function in order to enjoy life and time with their family and friends.
I love the day-to-day interactions with patients and their families, and the variety in the cases I am able to treat. No two injuries, impairments or disabilities are the same. Therefore we create a tailored, personalized plan for each patient based on his or her current condition and goals. I encourage patients and families to be active participants in their recovery.
Every person I work with – whether a team member or patient –a brings a unique perspective and experience skill set, which creates an environment of both healing and learning.
