About Me

I am a cardiologist and medical director of the Adult Cardiac Electrophysiology Program at Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute. I diagnose and treat patients with many different heart rhythm problems.

I was born in Peru and decided to pursue a career in medicine when I was very young, about 12 years old. I knew that I wanted to be a doctor. I moved to the US in my 20s to pursue my medical education and on the first day of my cardiology rotation, I was in electrophysiology. I immediately knew that I wanted to make it my life’s work.

In electrophysiology, we treat the heart’s electrical system, which controls the rhythm of the heart. We perform procedures to implant devices or fix issues with the heart and monitor people over time to ensure their heart is beating to the best of its ability.

At Memorial, we treat our patients as family. We have a team approach to care and include the patient and their family as part of our team. This means they are a part of the decision-making and know what is going on – which ultimately leads to better patient experiences and outcomes.
