About Me
I am pediatric neurologist at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. I assess and treat children with developmental delays, seizures and headaches. My subspecialty is in pediatric neuroimmunology, which encompasses conditions such as multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD), autoimmune encephalitis, transverse myelitis, and other inflammatory conditions that affect the brain and spine.
The desire to positively change people’s lives inspired me to become a doctor. Unsure of what I wanted to do after high school, it only took a few weeks of shadowing to see the unique and positive impact a physician can have. My excitement for pediatric neurology developed over time. During my pediatrics residency, I had extensive exposure to children with neurological diseases, and through that experience, my passion for this field grew. I love the ability to meet and learn from my colleagues and patients on a daily basis.
I strive to provide an open and safe space for parents and patients to express and discuss their own or their child’s needs. Through dialogue and collaboration, we can create effective management plans.
I’m also involved in clinical research with an interest in neuroinflammatory diseases. I have collected retrospective data on children with existing neuroinflammatory conditions to help predict relapse rates, severity of disease and efficacy of treatment.
Outside of the office, I’m an avid coach. While living in Texas, I founded and became the athletic director for a local private high school in Houston. I have also volunteered as a coach for youth football, basketball and baseball.
