About Me

I am a fetal and neonatal neurologist at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital. I provide prenatal counseling for families of babies with neurologic diagnoses and follow these babies closely once they are born. I also care for babies with neurological concerns including complications of prematurity, intraventricular hemorrhages, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, metabolic conditions and neonatal seizures. In addition to my neonatal neurology practice, I also practice general child neurology and treat patients with autism, developmental impairments, epilepsy and migraines.

As the oldest of five children, I was always interested in young children and their development. I earned my bachelor's degree in human development with a concentration in early childhood. After college, I worked with children with special needs and became increasingly interested in how medical conditions affected development. I wanted to learn more so I could help more, therefore I decided to go to medical school and trained in pediatric neurology, and subspecialized in fetal and neonatal neurology.

As a neurologist, I find the neonatal brain to be very fascinating for its remarkable ability to compensate after injury. It is an honor to meet families facing these difficult situations and be able to walk with them through this scary journey. I marvel every day at how these babies can beat the odds and love following them as outpatients as they develop and grow into inspiring children.

In addition to providing care and participating in medical research, I am also interested in global health and hope to explore avenues for furthering medical care around the world.
