About Me
I am a board certified orthopedic trauma surgeon at Memorial Healthcare System. I treat patients with broken bones (fractures), including those of the arms, legs and pelvis. I also perform elective, reconstruction surgeries for patients whose bones fail to heal together (nonunion) or heal in a crooked position (malunion).
When I meet patients for the first time, they have usually just encountered a devastating trauma due to a car crash or fall. It is an honor to provide state-of-the-art medical care immediately following trauma, in order to get my patients on the path to recovery. My goal is to restore a patient’s quality of life to what they enjoyed prior to their injury.
My work outside of the operating room is just as important as my surgical skills. I not only get to surgically improve patients’ injuries, but I also get to provide some much-needed answers about what they can expect during their recovery. I spend as much time as I can with each family, addressing their questions and concerns. I hope that this alleviates some of their stress and anxiety, and shows them that our team at Memorial is going to be there for them every step of the way.
In addition to providing direct patient care, I use my passion and expertise in film production to create surgical educational videos. These videos are viewed at medical conferences by both surgeons and surgeons-in-training. This is another way I can help advance modern medicine and help people dealing with traumatic injuries.

Research
I have participated in research since my undergraduate studies. My earliest efforts helped to develop new drugs to kill malaria-carrying mosquitos, and to help understand why some bacteria – including the type that causes gas gangrene – are able to escape the human immune system.
While completing my surgical training, I helped lead several research studies in the areas of tibial nonunion treatment, perioperative smoking cessation and patella fracture treatment.
I’ve also published many surgical education videos on a variety of topics, which help to teach the latest surgical techniques to both practicing surgeons and surgeons-in-training. Several of these videos have been showcased at the Orthopaedic Trauma Association’s annual meetings.
