About Me
I am a breast surgical oncologist at Memorial Breast Cancer Center. I treat patients with all stages of breast cancer, breast cancer survivors, and patients at high risk for developing breast cancer in the future. I also care for patients other breast concerns such as benign lumps.
I am a board-certified, fellowship-trained, seasoned breast cancer expert with experience working at cancer centers around the country. Many times, I am the first doctor a patient is seeing after learning they have breast cancer. My goal is not only to provide them with the best surgical option to begin their treatment, but also to help them digest their diagnosis, understand their options and feel empowered to take part in the creation of their unique treatment plan.
I want to replace my patients’ fears with facts. I equip them with a plan and help them find the strength needed to battle the disease. Most importantly, I want my patients to know that they are not alone in this process. At Memorial, we are equipped with experts and resources to ensure someone is there to guide you every step along the way.
In addition to providing patient care, I am also involved in clinical research, and have been instrumental in the development and strategic planning for breast cancer programs. I am also actively involved with the American Society of Breast Surgeons and serve on the American College of Surgeons’ Committee on Diversity Issues. I often travel to lecture and present on topics related to breast cancer, breast conserving therapy and components of a comprehensive breast cancer program.
Prior to joining Memorial, I was an assistant professor at the University of Texas Southwestern and the medical director of the Breast Evaluation and the Breast Surgery Clinics at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
