About Me
I am a wound care specialist at Memorial Healthcare System. I care for patients with pressure ulcers, non-healing surgical wounds, venous leg ulcers, traumatic wounds, burns, diabetic foot ulcers, hidradenitis-related wounds and more.
When I first began my medical training and career, I was drawn to the field of surgery thanks to the guidance and inspiration from many mentors. After ten years in practice, I realized I had an affinity for healing challenging wounds. That motivated me to seek more specialized training in the area, and I became board-certified in wound care and trained in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. I have been caring for patients with challenging wounds for 20 years in South Florida.
When working with patients, I see them as the unique individual person that they are. We look at their specific case and associated challenges, and I use my knowledge and expertise to diagnose and establish the best, personalized treatment plan. In wound care, a team approach is also critical. I work collaboratively with physical therapists, nutritionists, internists, other specialists and wound care staff to ensure each person has a comprehensive management approach.
There is great satisfaction in helping a patient heal, especially when they have challenging or long-term wounds preventing them from living their best life. I enjoy helping them heal, so they can resume activities.
