About Me
Program Director, Pediatric Residency Program
I am a pediatric hematologist/oncologist at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. I treat children with a variety of oncology and hematology issues, including childhood leukemia, solid tumors, sickle cell anemia and benign hematologic conditions such as anemia.
Growing up, my own pediatrician played an important role in my life and ultimately inspired me to pursue a career in pediatric medicine. Now, I am paying it forward by making a difference in the lives of my patients and their families.
At Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, we form a close bond with the children we treat and their caregivers and truly become a part of their families. We not only provide the necessary medical care but also support them in many ways throughout their journey. When I see the children I care for feeling better and able to enjoy normal childhood activities, it makes all of the hard work worth it.
In addition to providing patient care, I also serve as chair of the Awards Review sub-committee for the American Society of Hematology and the vice chair of the Children's Oncology Group's pediatric match sub-protocol H study.
I also have the privilege of training and mentoring the next generation of pediatric oncologists through our pediatric residency program. I’ve been involved since its inception in 2018 and now serve as program director. Contributing to the career development of these new physicians is deeply rewarding. They bring a vibrant energy and a strong sense of community to our organization.
