About Me

I am an internal medicine physician at Memorial Healthcare System who specializes in primary and preventive care for adults. My focus is to prevent, diagnose and treat illnesses, as well as manage chronic conditions of varying complexity.

Growing up in a family of physicians, I have always admired their commitment and passion towards caring for their patients. This motivated me to volunteer in hospitals at a young age during which I had the privilege of meeting people and helping them along their journey. My experiences inspired me to become a doctor, allowing me to develop long-lasting relationships with my patients while helping them improve their health and quality of life.

As a primary care physician, my goal is to provide the best care possible for my patients. When I meet with my patients, I like to foster a patient- and family-centered care approach. By listening to my patients and their concerns, along with teamwork, education and communication, we can work together to build a healthy lifestyle.

As an advocate for my patients, I like to emphasize preventive care and self-care because I believe they are the best ways to avoid potential diseases and illnesses. I also work with my patients to develop and manage individualized medical care plans and coordinate care with specialists as needed. I want my patients to feel comfortable with me, as this will allow for us to establish a trusting and long-term relationship.

In addition to providing patient care, I also teach and mentor medical students and train resident physicians. Becoming a physician means surrounding yourself with those who share the same vision and passion for healing. My goal is to train future physicians to treat all their patients as if they were their own family members.

Research

I have been involved with research since my undergraduate studies. My curiosity began with muscle and exercise physiology in both the bench and clinical setting. Later on during my residency training, I was involved with several performance improvement projects within the hospital. My interest ranged from developing and initiating an Antibiotic Stewardship Program to evaluating the effect of mindfulness in physicians who work in a high stress environment.
