About Me
Dr. Larry Latson is internationally recognized for excellence in patient care, education and research in congenital heart disease. He has more than 30 years of experience in interventional catheterization for congenital heart disease and contributed to development of many modern techniques for treatment of congenital heart disease in patients of all ages. He is board-certified in the new specialty of Adult Congenital Heart Disease.
He joined Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in 2011 after 18 years at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio, where he was chairman of Pediatric Cardiology, and medical director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at the Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Diseases. He currently is the director of Pediatric Interventional Catheterization and co-director of the Center for Adult Congenital Heart Disease at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and Memorial Healthcare System.
Dr. Latson earned his medical degree with honors at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston after a B.S. in biophysics from Trinity University in San Antonio. He completed his pediatric cardiology fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital, and is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatrics, pediatric cardiology, and pediatric critical care, as well as the American Board of Internal Medicine in Adult Congenital Heart Disease. Dr. Latson is a member of many professional organizations and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Society for Cardiac Catheterization and Interventions.
