Breast Cancer Walk

Women in the United States have a 1 in 8 chance of getting breast cancer if they live to be 85 years old. It’s also the second leading cause of death among women. The good news, however, is that there are more than 3 million survivors alive and living healthy and productive lives because of the strides made in early detection and treatment.
During last year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, more than 25,000 volunteers laced up their sneakers and donned their gray and pink Be…Brave, Strong, Proud tees for the American Cancer Society's annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event on Monday, October 31 in the beautiful Wayne Huizenga Park in Fort Lauderdale.
Memorial Breast Cancer Center sponsored a tent, and a team of employees joined the walk to help to raise money for this worthy cause. To engage participants, we encouraged them to take photos at our photo booth with their family and friends and post them to social media. In addition, we handed out Memorial Cancer Institute fans and water bottles to everyone who helped make the walk enjoyable.
