Alzheimer s Walk
October 27, 2016
Memorial’s Neuroscience Institute, Acute Care for Elders unit and Adult Day Care recently participated in the Broward Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Hollywood North Beach Park.
South Broward Hospital District Commissioner Karen Harrington and Dr. Hilary Glazer, a neurologist and memory specialist with Memorial Neuroscience Institute, served as champions of Memorial’s team, helping to bring awareness to this important cause. Gael and Allen, two of Memorial’s popular pet therapy dogs, even joined the walk, doing their part to showcase the wide range of services we offer our patients.
This year’s event attracted about 3,000 participants and raised more than $300,000 to help fight Alzheimer’s. The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's® is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. It is held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide.
