About Us
The Center for Nursing Excellence and Innovation
The Center for Nursing Excellence and Innovation unites nurses and leadership across our system to foster a culture of excellence. Through collaboration and continuous improvement, we aim to enhance patient care and support the professional growth of our nursing caregivers. Our shared governance councils serve as the voice of the Center, establishing a framework to advance our collective purpose in the following focus areas:
Shared Governance Councils
Superior Outcomes – Provide the highest quality care to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients and workforce.
Professional Growth & Development – Build a stronger workforce and create a culture of success.
Research & Innovation – Redefine nursing care through innovation, research, and evidence-based practices.
Care Delivery Transformation – Introduce alternative care models and technology that enable nurses to provide a safer and more personalized care experience.
An Innovative Structure
With the Center’s foundational support, Memorial promotes a collaborative and supportive working environment, one where nurses can thrive and grow. Each hospital has a Chief Nursing Officer and we have a Chief Nurse Executive at the system level. Its leaders are accessible and present, encouraging and implementing feedback from nurses.
Leading by Example
Every nurse is a leader at Memorial Healthcare System and a vital part of every aspect of the work we do. The contributions of our nurses enable us to deliver exceptional care every day. In addition to the M.E.G.A.N. program, which recognizes those who exemplify our core values, Memorial awards nurses for their outstanding achievements.

- DAISY Team Award: Recognizes nurses for contributing to patient safety or supporting colleagues, patients or families.
- Patient First Award: Recognizes nurses for contributing to patient safety or supporting colleagues, patients or families.
